Pipe Deep

One of the benefits of shooting Pipe from the water is just the experience of being out there watching so many insane waves power by. Many go unridden because they are too gnarly. We as photogs get to see the whole fantastic display that is Pipe. This one was way deep, towards Off the Wall, and came hurtling across the reef toward us. I like the out-of-focus water in the foreground, forcing the viewer to look over the lump and straight into the eye of the barrel. Pipeline, North Shore, Oahu.
