Intense Light Of The Midday Sun

There are days in the Bahamas, like this one, when the light is so hard, so bright and the air so clear that everything seems to be kissed by intense color. This is one of my favorite paintings that I did of the Bahamas – I love the combination of colors together – the brushstrokes are bold, loose and free – I love the highlights of the silver in the trim on the house and in the lamp post. Most of the houses here are situated on the sea – the focus is fishing and catching the breeze. Life here is about the sea.
