Crucifixion

This was taken minutes after the 2006 Mavericks contest had ended. I was just packing up my gear when I saw a set on the horizon. This guy took off too deep and paid the price. I decided to call this photo "Crucifixion" because of the position of the surfer, and because the dictionary defines crucifixion as "the infliction of extremely painful punishment or suffering" which seems appropriate in this case.
